Privacy Policy for Until
In short: Until does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. Everything you create stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
This policy explains how the Until mobile app (“Until”, “the app”) for Android and iOS, published by Cidi Labs (“we”, “us”), handles information. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect none. Until has no backend and does not connect to the internet: the Android release build does not even request the internet permission. We cannot see, access or receive anything you enter in the app.
Information stored on your device
To work, the app keeps the following in its private storage on your device only:
- The events you create: name, date and time, kind (countdown or “since”), color, tags, repeat rule, reminder choice and whether the event is shown on the home-screen widget.
- Your app preferences, such as appearance settings and whether you have seen the introduction screens.
This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it, as described below.
Device permissions
- Calendar (read only, optional). Only when you choose to import events from your calendar, Until asks for permission to read your device calendars. It reads upcoming events (title, start time, repeat rule and alerts) so you can pick which ones to add as countdowns. The events you pick are copied into Until on your device. Until never changes or deletes anything in your calendar and never sends calendar data anywhere. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
- Notifications (optional). Used to show the reminders you set for your events. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

Run at startup (Android
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED). Used only to restore your scheduled reminders after your device restarts or the app is updated.
Home-screen widget
If you add the Until widget, it displays the events you choose on your home screen. The widget reads the same data stored on your device; nothing is sent elsewhere.
Export, import and sharing
- Backup export and import. You can export your events to a file and import them later. The file is saved to, or opened from, a location you pick with your device’s file picker. If you choose a cloud location (for example Google Drive or iCloud Drive), that provider’s privacy policy applies to the file.
- Sharing. You can share an event as an image through your device’s share sheet. It is sent only to the app or person you choose, and that recipient’s privacy policy applies.
Device backups
Your operating system may include Until’s on-device data in your device backups (Android backup to your Google account, or iCloud backup on iOS), depending on your device settings. These backups are handled by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies; we have no access to them.
Third parties
Until contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking services, and we do not sell or share any data with third parties. Fonts are bundled with the app and are not downloaded at runtime.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual events, or all of them, inside the app. Uninstalling Until removes all of its data from your device. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Security
Your data is kept in the app’s private storage, protected by your device’s operating-system sandbox and by your device lock. Keep exported backup files somewhere you trust.
Children’s privacy
Until is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
